Hailing from Olympia, Washington, Josie now lives in Boston, MA. Josie’s acoustic string band showcases a variety of early country music, from the Old Time of the Appalachian Mountains to songs from Honky Tonk Heroes like Hank Williams and Kitty Wells.\nToney has performed at Grey Fox, FreshGrass, The Oldtone Roots Music Festival, and 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival. She is a sought after private instructor, and has taught at Fiddle Tunes in Port Townsend, WA, Bruce Molsky & Debra Clifford’s Old Time Rollick at Ashokan, and the Passim School of Music in Boston. She is a graduate of The Berklee College of Music, where she received the Sam Eisenson Award for Country Music.
