The concert serves as the band’s first domestic performance in over two-years and kicks off a short string of tour dates throughout the U.S., including a performance at the epic and eclectic Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN.  Tickets for múm at Hudson Hall are now on sale to members at hudsonhall.org or by phone at (518) 822-1438, and will be on sale to the public on November 29th at 9am (EST).\nHailing from Iceland, múm got their start in the late 90s and immediately garnered global attention in 2000 for their critical favorite album, Yesterday Was Dramatic – Today Was OK, which cemented the music group’s influence in both the electronic and global music world. Best known for their sweeping, ocean-like epic tracks that pull the listener out to sea with a tide of electronic glitches, ambient pulses, feathery vocals, and traditional and unconventional instrumentation, múm deftly creates unique and otherworldly soundscapes. Since their initial success, they have released six full albums, as well as a mountain of other music, singles, EP’s, collaborations, theater and film music. In 2013, múm released a single with Australian pop-star Kylie Minogue, “Whistle”, from the film Jack & Diane for which the band composed the original score the year before. Múm has also composed for theater, most notably two radio theater plays, winning the Nordic Radio Theater Prize in 2005, and recorded their own soundtrack for the classic Sergei Eisenstein film, Battleship Potemkin. The band, never known to shy away from a creative or experimental stretch, once convinced the city of Reykjavik to purchase underwater speakers from the U.S. military so they could perform a concert in a public pool.
