To kick off the holiday season, parents and faculty transform the school into a winter wonderland of family fun including puppet shows, horse drawn hayrides, face painting, jump rope making, candle dipping, and other gifts to make and give, celebrating the joys of a handmade holiday in the Berkshires. The Handcraft Room, centerpiece of the Fair, offers a large selection of warm handmade items, including winter accessories and soft toys. The Gently Used Shop is a much-loved community destination for books, toys, clothing and home goods.\n \nPlaytime at the Fair—Berkshire Waldorf School Early Childhood faculty will perform a puppet play featuring  handcrafted puppets, “The Golden River,” with performances at 10:30am, 11:30am and 1:00pm. Other highlights include the children’s craft room where youngsters can make presents themselves, a very special cake walk with live musicians, maple sugar cotton candy, and the Pocket Wizard, whose many pockets are filled with small gifts.\n \nTreats for All Ages—Adults will revel in the premium local goods and services at the Holiday Handcraft Fair’s Silent Auction, and have a chance to win a $1000 gift card from local food purveyors Guido’s or the Berkshire Coop. The Berkshire Country Store stocks one-of-a-kind gifts and gourmet treats, and the cafe serves lunch, warm drinks and homemade desserts.  All Fair proceeds benefit the programs and students of the Berkshire Waldorf  School.\n \nBerkshire Waldorf School’s curriculum of academic excellence activated with movement, music, outdoor learning and the arts has been preparing students to achieve their full potential for 48 years, and has earned BWS “Best School in the Berkshires” accolades for seven  consecutive years. The school is now welcoming early childhood through 8th grade applications for Fall 2020,  and offers generous scholarships for qualified students. berkshirewaldorfschool.org\n
