DESCRIPTION:On May 7th — and the first Friday of each month — at 12–12:30 pm, the Congregational Church of Salisbury UCC, 30 Main Street in Salisbury, CT, hosts live organ and violin for a half-hour of music and meditation. The event is free and open to the public following social-distancing protocols.\n \nSamuel Lord Kalcheim earned his Ph.D. in Music Composition from the University of Oregon and has been the Transitional Music Director at the Congregational Church of Salisbury, UCC since July, 2020. He earned his Master’s degree at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, and his Bachelor’s degree with honors at the University of Chicago. Besides his skills as an organist, he is an accomplished violinist and viola player.\n\nDr. Kalcheim has composed for orchestra, chamber orchestra, solos, and opera and has received numerous awards throughout his career. He is a member of American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), the American Guild of Organists, and the Oregon Composers Forum. \n
