The Christmas rush is through, the wrapping paper thoroughly shredded and discarded, the stress level of holiday travel and family visits is slowly receding from its boiling point and the whirlwind of the past week is beginning to unwind down to a semi-reasonable pace. But before returning to face the rest of winter, and before the credit card bills begin to roll in, there is still plenty of reason to make merry and one more holiday to celebrate- for Auld Langs Syne. This New Year’s Eve, with help from our friends at Three Meadows Spirits in Millerton, NY. founders of the landmark Peony Vodka, here are four holiday-themed vodka cocktail recipes to ring in the New Year with both old and new acquaintances:

PEONY POM POM
2 oz. Peony Vodka
1 oz. Pomegranate syrup
1 oz. Pomegranate juice
2 oz. sparkling water
Stir all ingredients together in an ice-filled glass.  Top with 1 or 2 tablespoons cream and a few fresh pomegranate seeds.

PEONY SPRUCE MARTINI
1 1/2 oz. Peony Vodka
1/4 – 1/2  oz. (to taste)  Spruce simple syrup*
Prosecco
*Simple Syrup recipe: boil 1 cup each sugar, water, and fresh spruce tips until sugar is dissolved.  Turn off heat and let cool.  Strain.

PEPPERMINT PEONY
1 1/2 oz. Peony Vodka
1 oz. white creme de cacao
3/4 oz. peppermint schnapps
candy cane for garnish

WINTER BREAK
2 oz. Peony Vodka
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
3/4 oz. red wine float
Shake 1st 3 ingredients w/ice, pour into a glass, pour red wine over the back of a spoon for the float.
