Can lemon water & celery juice flush your liver?

By Published On: March 27th, 2025

It’s like we’re a giant Brita filter — everything we put inside us gets processed by the liver to ensure purity. The liver filters the blood to remove toxins that eventually leave our bodies through urine and feces.

You know how you wash your Brita filter every so often? Well, I got to thinking, maybe our liver needs a cleansing sometime, too.

I’ve been doing some research on lemon water and celery juice, and based on testimonials and theoretical research, I have come to some conclusions about the benefits both beverages can have on our livers and overall health.

What does lemon water do?

Research suggests that lemon water breaks down toxins or extra nutrients in the liver, flushing out the waste through the kidneys and down the sewer after using the bathroom.

Medical Medium Anthony William was born with a unique ability to communicate with the Spirit of Compassion, a Spirit that provides him with physical, emotional, and mental wellness advice. Anthony has countless testimonials from people who have been healed from chronic illness like gum disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, cysts, acne, cancer, Hashimoto’s Disease, Eczema, allergies, anxiety, Rosacea, Vitiligo, Parkinson’s Disease, brain fog, Psoriasis, and many more.

William explains that lemons are ultra-hydrating and electrolyte-producing because they have mineral and trace mineral salts. He explains that lemon water provides “some of the most highly absorbable vitamin C around.” The antioxidant flavanoids in lemons flush out toxic substances collected from exposure to bad food choices, radiation, harmful chemicals, and plastics, all of which end up in our liver.

William says that phytochemicals called limonoids bond the vitamin C and calcium in lemons together so that when they travel through the body they travel as buddies. This creates alkalinity in the body to prevent the growth of essentially every type of cancer. In addition to flushing out toxins, lemons help with digestion and improves symptoms of constipation.

According to William, 16-32 oz of lemon water upon waking up is beneficial, along with using lemons as salad dressing or even over a bowl of fruit.

What does celery juice do?

William explains that celery contains undiscovered mineral salts that act as an antiseptic. Antiseptics slow or stop the growth of microorganisms on surfaces.

When these salts come across pathogens in the human body like shingles, Epstein-Barr, Streptococcus, and HHV-6 they break them down. These pathogens are the culprits for so many cases of chronic illness. He explains that these salts in celery will latch onto toxic, dangerous salts from poor-quality foods to help draw them out of the body.

These mineral salts also balance pH levels, repair the stomach and digestive track, and “most importantly”, the liver. Commonly, many Americans suffer from Fatty Liver Disease, which causes the liver to swell and operate improperly and that can lead to Cirrhosis in which case the liver is scarred and permanently damaged. Celery juice takes care of the liver by flushing out the toxins.

These mineral salts are also important for the successful operation of the central nervous system which is responsible for receiving, processing, and responding to sensory information. Aiding the central nervous system means improving cases of depression, brain fog, anxiety, bipolar disorder, memory loss, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Alzheimer’s disease. Celery also aids in the proper absorption of hundreds of nutrients like zinc and vitamin B-12.

Celery’s mineral salts are antibacterial, so they kill bacteria like strep and encourages growth for good bacteria that the body actually needs to function all while repairing damaged cells in the liver.

William advises celery drinkers to start off with 16-32 ounces of lemon water followed by 16-32 ounces of juiced/blended celery within 15-30 minutes of each other every morning. He says you can do the same process at night a few hours after having dinner.

Healing stories

Instagram user heal_infertility reported that she followed Anthony William’s healing advice and recovered from years of Rosacea. She explains that, “[her] rosacea before using MM was heaviest around [her] cheeks. [She has] healed it at about 90%.”

Alice Brown has her healing journey plastered all over her Instagram account. She struggled with Eczema and chronic illness for years. She explained that she was stuck on a “merry-go-round” of doctors offices and finally came across MM healing guidance. She explains that she found “a life free of illness” and that everyone can experience the same type of freedom she found using the lemon water and celery juice routine in addition to other healthy lifestyle changes.

Another Instagram member Arjen Bos shares his testimony of healing Parkinson’s Disease and finally being able to walk again. Despite his healing journey taking three years, he expresses that every day he cleansed was worth regaining his ability to walk and live his life in freedom.

Account going by “sweatsandthecity” saw improvements in her bladder pain only three months into practicing MM’s detoxification advice. She explained that her bladder pain is finally getting better after battling the affliction for 12 years and expresses her thanks to the advice received from William.

Camilla has experienced improvements in anxiety, brain fog, tiredness and sluggishness after cleaning her liver using lemon water and celery juice. She said that cleansing her liver has “changed everything”.

Placebo or probably legit?

Regardless if the lemon water and celery juice work or the placebo effect is in action, I’m rejoicing over these healing stories. Maybe it’s time for you to put this detoxification to the test. Maybe you or a loved one is faced with chronic illness, and maybe, just maybe, food can truly fight what western medicine can’t.
