Mark your calendars and start your engines! On Sunday, June 25th from 12pm-4pm, North East Ford at 182 Route 44 in Millerton, NY, will be holding their first Car & Motorcycle Show. You won’t want to miss out on the fun!

Owner of North East Ford, Lann Rubin II, describes that the atmosphere of the event will be more laid-back than your typical car show. With this “cruise and coffee” format, cars can arrive until there’s no more space, and visitors are free to hang out and enjoy the vehicles at their own pace. Lann expects a lot of classic cars, newer highline cars, and as far as motorcycles go, tons of Harleys to be featured!

Lemongrass Grill and Weezie’s (a breakfast and lunch truck) will be bringing their food trucks, and a DJ from Robin Hood Radio will be in attendance for your enjoyment! Participants can anticipate plenty of prizes, and baskets provided by vendors like Factory Spas Direct and Millerton Wine & Liquor. Trophies will be handed out based on what vehicles are present, and gifts will be given out every hour, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on an award based on when you arrive or leave with your vehicle!

This low pressure element to the show is a key part of the inspiration behind it. At his prior dealership, Lann found that putting on a formal car show can come with numerous obstacles: namely, the unpredictability of weather and the fact that people have to wait until the end to be judged for their vehicles. He was inspired by one of his technician’s involvement in car clubs, as well as previous events North East Ford has held, to put on something new and less stressful.

Thus, the great thing about North East Ford’s show is that you can pop in, enjoy the cars and motorcycles for however long you want, get some food, and then take some time to go shopping in town. “It’s a nice mix for a family event, to be able to pull over and see what’s happening. 12-4 isn’t an exhausting day—and by that point shopping will be open in Millerton, so we hope this can really revitalize the boulevard,” Lann explains.

North East Ford hopes to make the show an annual event, and they predict that as long as weather holds up, it’ll be a “monstrous success”! Lann notes that they’d love to partner with a charity to make it a fundraiser in the future and expand the show in the years to come.
