We all live a life on-the-go nowadays, with little time to slow down even for our meals. This is especially true if you’re someone who is constantly on the road for work. For those of us who are constantly in motion, we’ve rounded up a list of the best places for grab-and-go and prepared foods for when you don’t have time to sit down and eat.

Jam Food Shop 

Founders Lee Kennedy and Alex Elliott opened Jam Food Shop in 2009 to bring simple, sophisticated fare to the Sharon neighborhood and the surrounding area. LaBonne’s Markets

New York 

The Corner Counter 

Lauren Cunningham-Housman opened The Corner Counter in April of this year and has quickly become a go-to spot in the Red Hook community. They offer a variety of pantry picks stacked on tables and shelves when you first walk in; baked goods and pastries in the display counter; a variety of local cheese; a full menu of grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, and small plates; and even a shelf full of local wines, beers, and ciders.

Bread Alone Bakery 

Bread Alone Bakery has been baking bread since 1983, and also offers cafe foods in addition to their breads and pastries. They make all of their cafe offerings in-house using local ingredients. Sandwiches, salads, and soups are all offered for dining indoor and outdoor or for takeout if you’re on-the-go. If you’re really in a pinch, place your to-go order online ahead of time to ensure it’s ready when you get there.

Rhinebeck Bagels 

Rhinebeck Bagels has been serving the Rhinebeck community and surrounding area with bagels, sandwiches, subs, salads, soups, and more since 1995. Dine in-shop or order ahead and grab your food to go. Many people have stated that Rhinebeck Bagels is the best spot for NYC-style bagels outside of the city, and hey, they weren’t voted Best of the Hudson Valley for nothing.

Copake General Store 

The Copake General Store is a full service grocery store in Copake that also offers sandwiches and prepared foods. Re-established in December of 2017, the Copake General Store features locally sourced and seasonal products in the market as often as possible. They offer sandwiches, salads, soups, and baked goods using the produce, meats, and other ingredients that can be found on their store shelves.

The Farmer’s Wife 

The Farmer’s Wife was established in 2002 as a cafe and catering center. They offer breakfast, lunch, and prepared-foods takeout, and have a rotating daily lunch specials menu. While they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, they have customers’ favorites on hand including egg and cheese sandwiches, sesame noodles, and curried chicken during the rest of the week.

Massachusetts

Berkshire Food Co-op 

The Berkshire Food Co-op has a rotating daily menu at their hot bar. They offer soups that vary from day to day, but always offer a gluten free option and a vegan option. With daily rotating specials that range from honey garlic chicken, oven roasted veggies, maple balsamic tofu, and fall veggie lasagna, the Berkshire Food Co-op has you covered with food that tastes good and is good for you.

Guido’s Fresh Marketplace 

Guido’s is a go-to for anyone looking for fresh on-the-go goods in the Pittsfield or Great Barrington areas. With a daily menu of goods ranging from soups, salads, and sandwiches, Guido’s also offers daily specials, a pizza menu, and a sushi bar.
