The Millbrook Inn blends two worlds together. The Inn is a luxury boutique hotel set on a picturesque country road, surrounded by farmland and grazing horses. The Inn was once a dormitory for the Greer School, but was reborn as The Millbrook Inn in 2010.

The Inn has also recently added its bar and restaurant, The Vintage, and expanded its gardens and greenspace.

The Inn offers a complimentary, locally sourced breakfast daily. The Millbrook Inn describes themselves as “hyper-local,” and uses the family farms in Millbrook and the Hudson Valley to their advantage. Breakfast boasts local, fresh eggs, yogurt from local cow farms, and seasonal fresh-picked fruit.

In the evening, The Vintage restaurant comes to life with a bar fully stocked with award-winning wines and liquors (much of which are produced right here in New York State) and a menu chock-full of local dishes boasting fruits and vegetables that are in-season including tomatoes, corn, and eggplant.

Wines are sourced from local vineyards including Milea Estate and Elysabeth Vineyards in the Hudson Valley, as well as vineyards from other areas of New York State including Forge Cellars in the Finger Lakes, and Wölffer Estate and Mattebella Famiglia in North Fork.

The Vintage has also created a special salad, titled “The Field Salad,” which is inspired by a horse’s diet. The salad features wild greens, dandelions topped with sugar-glazed rainbow carrots, a savory oat crumble on top, and is dressed with an apple-wheatgrass vinaigrette.

The current dinner menu at The Vintage boasts dishes like a spring chicken roasted under a brick, served with polenta and seasonal vegetable, a local Steelhead salmon trout, baked a cedar plank with a miso glaze, and served with crispy spinach and rice, and a short-rib burger, stacked on a brioche bun with ramp aioli, greens, local cheddar, and a farm-fresh egg, served with root chips and house-made pickles.

The bar at The Vintage features a signature cocktail, Millbrook Martinez, which is made with oak barrel aged gin and a sugar cube on the bottom.

Additionally, the Millbrook Inn is an ideal place to stay if you’re attending the Millbrook Horse Trials, or if you’re visiting the area to see other local attractions such as Wethersfield Gardens, the Millbrook Winery & Vineyards, or the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. The Inn is only about a 5-minute drive from the Town of Millbrook.

Room 8, “The Henry,” is the ideal room for horse lovers, as it pays homage to the equestrian history of Millbrook and has a vast view of the neighboring horse field and paddock. “The Henry” is located on the second floor and is the largest room at the Inn. It boasts double-height vaulted ceilings, a dressing area, two closets, a kind bed, a fireplace with a sitting area, and an antique leather-topped desk. “The Henry” also has the largest bathroom, with a walk-in shower, water closet, claw foot tub, and marble herringbone heated floors.

Like “The Henry”, each of the other nine rooms at the Inn are filled with high-end furnishings, including a mix of locally-found objects and eclectic art.

The Millbrook Inn welcomes guests 13 years and older, pets are not allowed, and prices start at $400 per night.
