It’s a wicked good week. Wicked: For Good is out on Friday the 21st! For all of us who have been under the spell of Wicked for years now, this is really exciting and deserves a wickedly good wine to celebrate. With that as a goal, it’s really hard to choose just one, so I’m going with a pair. To represent Glinda, I’m going with a pink sparkling wine. A favorite of mine is from Gruet, a French-American co-production based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It doesn’t get prettier than that. It’s a brut style made with Pinot Noir so it’s beautifully crisp with fine bubbles and it has those delightful red fruit notes on the nose and palate that make it irresistible in every way. To represent Elphaba, I’m going with a deep, dark California Cab that I just love: Faust. The winery is in Coombsville in Napa, and the wine is truly something you’d consider selling your soul for. Big and powerful yet sleek and graceful, the wine is loaded with classic Cab notes of cassis and blackberry and dark cherry. Beguiling and beautiful. Experience the wicked good in both these wines. And enjoy the movie!! Cheers!
