Celebrate Copake Falls Day on July 18

Mark your calendars, create some memories, and enjoy lots of community. Copake Falls Day will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm. This annual event brings everyone together for a full day of fun, food, and local spirit—all while supporting good causes that are dear to our hearts and close to home.

Beyond the food and summer fun, Copake Falls Day benefits local community organizations; a portion of proceeds supports Dollars for Scholars—a national network of volunteer-driven programs that award scholarships to students in their own communities and the Roe Jan Food Pantry, which aims to end hunger by distributing food to community members who seek aid. Those who join in the fun will feel good knowing that they’re directly helping students and families throughout the community.

Music enthusiasts will enjoy live performances by Winds in the Wilderness, local guitar duo Harry Hussey and Carolynn Murphy, and more. Families will delight in complimentary train and pony rides and an evening Raptor show led by experienced wildlife educator Brian Robinson who will showcase birds of prey such as hawks, owls, falcons, and vultures. There will also be family movie showing at 8 pm in Taconic State Park. The wee ones will be engaged in the day’s events while playing games, making crafts, face painting, and more.

Hungry guests can grab lunch from on-site food vendors, enjoy the healthy salad bar at Church of St. John’s, indulge in some yummy ice cream, courtesy of Stewart’s, and return for a delicious evening BBQ (tickets can be purchased via copakefallsny.com/bbq-tickets).

Fashionistas, bargain hunters, and treasure seekers will enjoy the Tag Sale, which offers lots of clothing, art, and home and outdoor goods. The event also offers raffles and a silent auction that features a slew of great prizes that were generously donated by local businesses.

The Market will showcase locally made goods; there will also be a “Made in Copake Falls” table representing local talent and artisans. Also present will be Copake Fire Company #1, which will serve lunch, and the local Sherriff’s Department, which will offer safety demonstrations.

History buffs can explore the newly-mounted Roeliff Jansen Historical Society exhibit, “Patriots, Plowshares & Post Roads: Chapters from Our Local Journey to Independence” and attend the annual Robin A. Bruce Memorial Lecture, “Ancram Ironworks of 1743” featuring local historian Jim Mackin.

Other things to do: Take a tour of the Copake Iron Works, enjoy a ride on the Pomeroy Family Railroad, which includes a brief history of the Ironworks—the economic engine that created Copake Falls, or follow the self-guided local history tour. Athletes and fitness enthusiasts can lace up for the 5K Run—scan the QR code on the event flyer to register in advance.

Whether you come for the music, food, shopping, or simply to enjoy a day with neighbors, Copake Falls Day promises something memorable for people of all ages. For more, visit copakefallsny.com. Tag sale inquiries can be directed to cfdtagsale@gmail.com.
