Here comes March! If it comes in like a lion, it needs to go out like a lamb. So I’m celebrating the lion part with a bottle from Spain that has a great image of a lion on the label: Acuma Red Blend. This lion is roaring with intensity and reminds me of how I sometimes feel at this time of year. “Let’s get it over with already!” It’s a lovely wine, actually. Every vintage seems to score 90 points or more with reviewers. A medium- to full-bodied dry red, this blend gives up notes of both red and black fruit. Cherries and cranberries and blackberries all balanced with a vibrancy that shines through in the front, middle, and finish. Delicious with any hearty March meal.
