Harker House Wine & Spirits in Clinton Corners, NY, is a serious go-to for recommendations. Hal Newell has owned the store since July of 2016, and he has a very loyal following as he carries some real gems from around the world.
For Christmas – and right on into the New Year – there’s nothing better than bubbles, of course. He has a fondness for a 2014 Deutz Rose Champagne from France (where else?!). Deutz’s exacting standards for fine champagne date back to the late 1800s.
The wine itself? Sublime in every way that champagne can be. Price? A very affordable $72. Going to Harker House is such a pleasure. It’s like your favorite book store, patisserie, and boutique clothing store all rolled into one. You’ll leave with wonderful wines and a desire to visit again soon.
