Valentine’s Day begs for a “Lady and the Tramp” romantic moment of staring into a lover’s eyes while connecting over a plate of pasta. Take it a step further and put a beautiful bottle of wine on the table. To enjoy with pasta, barbecue, steak, charcuterie, and – yes – chocolate (of course), my Wine of the Week(end) is this decadent Corte Fiore Appassimento. It’s an Italian wine made with Montepulciano grapes that are left to partially dry on the vine, intensifying their flavor and texture. The result is a luscious wine with lots of concentrated red fruit note of cherry and plum. It’s a clean wine, too, not flabby at all. It sings Amore Mio in your mouth – and through your heart. And it doesn’t break the bank, so you may want to have a few bottles on hand to enjoy through the snowy weekend. Happy Valentine’s Day!
