St. Andrew’s Presents its Annual Handel’s Messiah Sing-In on December 6th
Friday, Dec. 6th, 7:30pm at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1 Main St. (cnr. Rtes. 7 & 341), Kent, CT 06757. $20 at the door, $15 in advance at http://bit.ly/messiah19, students free
St. Andrew’s Music in the Nave series presents its ninth annual Messiah Sing-In with James Sinclair conducting the Sherman Chamber Ensemble. As usual, the chorus will consist of members of the audience who wish to sing. Scores will be provided.
George Frederic Handel’s Messiah, a monumental work for voices and orchestra, has been thrilling audiences since its Dublin premiere in 1742. This performance features Part One, which centers on Christ’s Nativity, and concludes with the celebrated Hallelujah Chorus.
Jennifer Tyo Oberto (soprano), Dana Kephart (alto), Stephen Hassmer (tenor), and Joseph McDonough (bass-baritone) are the vocal soloists. Laurel Larsen plays organ.
The concert will take place Friday, December 6th at 7:30 pm at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1 North Main Street (corner of Routes 7 & 341), Kent, CT 06757. Admission is $20 at the door (cash or check only) or $15 online at http://bit.ly/messiah19. Student admission is free.
