‘Non-Linear Histories’ 2022 Oil on Canvas 30” x 30”

Falls Village, CT, November 30, 2023. Painter and art educator, Warren Prindle will exhibit a retrospective of his work at the Kearcher-Monsell Gallery (HVRHS) opening on December 8th, 2;30 – 5:00 pm. The salon-style exhibition covers twenty-plus years from Prindle’s oeuvre…plein air sketches, graphite studies, drawings and larger accomplished pieces, will be on exhibit and for sale with a portion of sales benefiting the HVRHS Fine Art Society.

“To be able to see the world through the eye of the painter has enriched my life. I hope that those who view my work will get some sense of the wonder I have experienced,” says Prindle, revealing a sense of quietude and elegance that is present in many of his paintings. The “wonder” he references is captured in complex metaphysical paintings such as “Non-Linear Histories,” 2022; the artist depicts a bereft couple standing atop the steps of an edifice of indeterminate style. We as the viewer are transported to a cloud-heavy world where we sense the couple’s ambivalence.

The work depicts a broad range of subject matter…deserted industrial sights, cityscapes, portraits and landscapes whose origins we can’t identify, but evoke memory of place. The exhibition promises to be a unique opportunity to purchase work by one of the area’s most accomplished painters.
