Founded in 1871, Dutchess County SPCA is one of the oldest SPCAs in the country.  It is a no-kill shelter, and the only animal welfare organization in Dutchess County chartered to enforce humane law.  Dutchess County SPCA is not a governmental agency, nor is it affiliated with the ASPCA.  It is an independent charity, funded almost entirely by private donations.

Frenchie

MEET FRENCHIE!
This pretty 7-year-old girl is looking to start a new chapter of her life. A bit shy at first, once Frenchie gets to know you, she’s the best cuddle buddy ever. Her closest caretakers here at the shelter describe her as being a “Velcro Cat”, clinging on and not wanting you to leave! Once she becomes acclimated to you and settles into her future home, she will certainly want to curl up on your lap while you watch television.
The three most important attributes Frenchie is looking for in an adopter is patience, compassion, and empathy. Frenchie has so much love to give. Will you reciprocate that love and open your heart to her?

Then, come meet her! DCSPCA is open Tuesday-Sunday 12pm – 5pm
