The days are slowly getting longer, though winter is far from over, as the temperature dives down into the single digits this weekend. It’s a good one to hunker down with a warming, soul-soothing stew or soup and a wine worthy of the task of being a simple comfort. Here’s my choice: Hearth Cabernet from Josh Cellars. I had been told by many wine friends I greatly respect that this wine was super-smooth and full of deep red fruit notes that have made it a regular go-to wine for them, but I was skeptical. Until I finally tried it in a blind tasting with several others and we all agreed. It’s a very nice wine. And the label, with a warming fire on it, is also just what’s called for this weekend.
