My career background is in journalism and communications so I have been photography-adjacent for years.

The Pine Plains Varsity Softball Team is currently fundraising for spring training. The team will be sending 18 players to Myrtle Beach, SC, for spring training at the Cal Ripken Experience in March of 2024. While there, the team will not only be training, but also competing. 

This is the third feature in our Rocktober series, dropping every Saturday in October. This week, we chatted with the music teachers at the Pine Plains Central School District about their current curriculum, bouncing back from the pandemic, the importance of music education, and inspiring confidence and creativity in their students. 

My interest in photography sparked at a young age. Growing up on a farm in Iceland, surrounded by horses, I just loved their pure beautiful energy and was drawn to capture their grace and power through the lens when I grew older.

Project SAGE (formerly known as Women’s Support Services) is a non-profit domestic violence prevention agency located in Lakeville, CT, and serving northwest Connecticut and neighboring towns in New York and Massachusetts. 

The Pine Plains PTA is hosting their annual Boo Thru at Stissing Mountain Jr./Sr. High School on Saturday, October 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

I am completely self taught, the internet is a wonderful thing in helping learning photography and keeping up to date with new processes and technology.

lespecial is a three-piece progressive rock band made up of Jonny Grusauskas, Luke Bemand, and Rory Dolan. They’re based out of Millerton, NY, and Connecticut, and their new album Odd Times was recently released on September 29. 

I’d like to add that photography is a passion of mine. I thoroughly enjoy being outside with my camera in nature.

My photography journey began as a hobby during my time in high school. Over the years, my skills for capturing moments and creating visual stories grew immensely.
