The Millbrook Horse Trials (MHT), a recognized United States Eventing Association (USEA) event, is an important part of a long equestrian tradition in Dutchess County. Recognized among the region’s most prestigious annual sporting events, it attracts world-class competitors from throughout the United States and brings some 400 riders and their support staff into the local community each year. MHT is the largest event in the northeast and the only one with an advanced division. US Olympic team riders regularly compete their upper level horses at Millbrook to warm up for the top international competitions. In addition to the many top equestrian professionals that compete at MHT, many local professional and amatuer riders alike attend the event.

Taking a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, folks with MHT say they are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for the 2021 trials. In addition to watching the excitement of the competition, they have new additions to the event, including food trucks, a vendor village highlighting local businesses, kids activities including a petting zoo, tailgating, private tents and, as always, free admission to the general public.

MHT coordinators say they are looking forward to having everyone back competing and spectating at one of the best equestrian events in the area. The public is invited to come enjoy a country day out with family and friends, watch the exciting competition, enjoy fabulous food, and browse MHT’s wonderful vendor village.
