Millerton Antiques Center Returns for 5th Annual Red Tag Sale
For the 5th year in a row, Millerton New York’s bustling Antiques Center will host its annual Red Tag Sale for shoppers and antiquarians alike. For the best winter deals available for both the fervent antique and home decor collector, all roads lead to the Millerton Antiques Center located at 25 Main Street along the vibrant villages central shopping corridor.
For two decades, Millerton’s antique mainstay has proved to be the foundation for the village’s eclectic boutique main drag and for the fifth consecutive year, the center will once again offer residents and visitors a premiere destination for one-of-a-kind deals on antiques and home decor items.
The Red Tag Sale kicked off on Saturday, January 15, and will run through the 15th of February with each unique dealer located within the Antiques Center featuring their “red tag” items in their booths with reductions of 20% to 50% off. “Each year, the sale provides a great incentive for people to get out of the house and into Millerton during the winter doldrums,” says Bob Murphy, one of the Antiques Center’s owners, “It offers great deals to our customers and helps make way for new merchandise come Spring. This year, in light of the dramatic changes we’ve seen, we will be limiting entrance to 20 people at a time, masks and social distancing being required as they have been for the past year.” As always, no item is safe from “red tag” designation. The Millerton Antique Center will feature everything from lighting, clothing, and sliver, to paintings and kitchen ware.
The Millerton Antiques Center is open 7 days a week (Daily 10-5, Sundays 11-4:30). For more information, give them a call at (518) 789-6004, visit millertonantiquescenter.com or stop by the Antiques Center on 25 Main Street Millerton, NY.
And check back with Main Street throughout the month for updates and new content as we highlight the ongoing Red Tag Sale event.
Featured Vendor- Michael Ward, Bunkhouse Antiques
Michael Ward, owner of Bunkhouse Antiques in South Kent, CT, found his way to our area by way of New York City where he owned a shop on Mott Street that specialized in Mission Oak Furniture.
For the last decade, Michael has been running Bunkhouse Antiques out of a restored barn on his property in the quaint town of Kent, Connecticut. “The barn came with my property, and of course, I was in need of some storage,” says Michael. “However since it is a two story barn, I was able to create a little showroom for appointments with those interested in some of the antiques I have found along my travels.”
Mr. Ward joined the community of vendors at the Millerton Antiques Center eight years ago and has seen the Red Tag Sale grow with each passing year. “The Red tag Sale provides a great opportunity for vendors like myself to discover new items or trends that are capturing the community’s interest,” Michael says. “There is no better place to tap into that communal interest than The Antique Center because it represents a real synergy between the vendors within. Each of us has our own take on style, making the Antiques Center for a great stop for anybody looking for anything.”
Stop by the Millerton Antiques Center at 25 Main Street in the village of Millerton now through February 15th to see everything Bunkhouse Antiques has to offer including their incredible deals!
Featured Vendor- Linda Pulver
Our first featured vendor, Linda Pulver, has maintained a charming booth or her own at the Antiques Center for three years. Each year ellicates the same excitement to connect with other vendors and meet new members of the surrounding community. “I started going to auctions and accumulating items years ago,” she says. “After three years, I am still thrilled at the opportunity to have a booth here in the Millerton Antiques Center and to share my interesting finds with the community.”
As the 2021 Red Tag Sale gets underway, Linda revels in the spirit such a sale brings to both vendors and people looking to explore the village of Millerton and what it has to offer. “Each vendor has their own kind of style and so the Red Tag Sale presents a wonderful opportunity for repeat customers and newcomers to discover the variety,” says Linda. “Everyone loves a bargain!”
