So long, September! You gave us some spectacular days. I’ll raise a toast with a rose sparkling wine so I can enjoy both the deliciousness of the wine and the color of it in the glass, which is so much like the pink hues of dawn and dusk. Since it’s a salute to the real end of summer, I’m going with something extra special. It’s Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial from the iconic producer of le vrai champagne. This is such a beautiful bubbly – it has that delightful bouquet of puff pastry and lemon zest on the nose, and its delicate bubbles tickle and dance on the tongue, where notes of ripe raspberry play with the bread-y notes. The wine is magnificent on its own, but also pairs well with anything from a meatball sub to a pumpkin bisque to an apple pie. Cheers!
