After a six-month nationwide search, Brett Bernadini has been tapped to lead The Stissing Center as its new Executive Director, taking over for the retiring Brian Keeler. Leading a staff of five, Brett will begin his new role on December 15.

“We are excited to welcome Brett to lead the next chapter of The Stissing Center. His experience, expertise, skill and talent are a winning combination. This position requires knowledge of cultural programming, marketing, fundraising, construction management and community engagement, a tall order by any measure, and Brett has an impressive track record in all of these categories. He will truly be a tremendous asset to our young organization,” commented Patrick Trettenero, Board President of The Stissing Center.

Most recently, Brett served as the Executive Director of the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival in Omaha, Nebraska. He previously held non-profit leadership roles at the Cape Playhouse in Dennis, MA and the Spirit of Broadway Theatre in Norwich, CT, among others. Prior to that, Brett spent 20 years as a public school teacher.

Brett commented, “I am excited to be joining The Stissing Center and to build on the exceptional job that Brian and his team have done over these past years. I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to advance the vision and work of this organization which serves the entire community through great art, engaging events and educational opportunities, and diverse cultural offerings.”

Brett will fill the role previously held by the retiring Brian Keeler, who from the organization’s launch has successfully led The Stissing Center though restoration of the building, navigated the shut-down during Covid pandemic, and launched its diverse programming currently in place.
