North East Ford Car & Motorcycle Show on August 4

By Published On: August 2nd, 2024

Mark your calendars and start your engines! On Sunday, August 4th from 12pm-4pm, North East Ford in Millerton, NY, will be holding their second annual Car & Motorcycle Show. You won’t want to miss out on the fun!

Owner of North East Ford, Lann Rubin II, describes the atmosphere of the event as more laid-back than your typical car show. With this “cruise and coffee” format, cars can arrive until there’s no more space, and visitors are free to hang out and enjoy the vehicles at their own pace. Based on last year, Lann expects a lot of classic cars, newer highline cars, and as far as motorcycles go, tons of Harleys to be featured!

This low pressure element to the show is a key part of the inspiration behind it. At his prior dealership, Lann found that putting on a formal car show can come with numerous obstacles: namely, the unpredictability of weather and the fact that people have to wait until the end to be judged for their vehicles. He was inspired by one of his technician’s involvement in car clubs, as well as previous events North East Ford has held, to put on something new and less stressful.

Lann also anticipates a bigger turnout for this year’s show! He shared that there will be more parking spots available this year as compared to last year and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office will be providing signage for the road and other additional safety measures. However, Lann noted that perhaps the one thing that makes the event the most successful is the support from the community. Without participants, there would be no show! In addition to a wide variety of vehicles to enjoy, the event will also feature food trucks, giveaways, and prize packs.

The great thing about North East Ford’s show is that you can pop in, enjoy the cars and motorcycles for however long you want, get some food, and then take some time to go shopping in town. “It’s a nice mix for a family event, to be able to pull over and see what’s happening. 12-4 isn’t an exhausting day—and by that point shopping will be open in Millerton, so we hope this can really revitalize the boulevard,” Lann explains.

In the coming years, North East Ford is looking forward to expanding the event even further. Additionally, North East Ford has been very busy this year with the launch of the North East Tech Challenge, a televised automotive technician challenge in which the top technician can win $10,000. Information about the challenge and details on how to apply can be found on the North East Ford website.
