I read a cute line the other day that has stuck with me for this week’s selection: A crisp white for a fall night. It sounds so inviting, and it’s perfectly suited to harvest season in New York State, where Riesling proliferates. So, Riesling it is, and with pleasure. Get your hands on a bottle (or several) of Riesling from Ravines Winery in Geneva, NY, Their Dry Riesling recently scored 92 points from Wine Spectator, leading a field of selections from around the world. The magazine wrote, ” The Finger Lakes region of New York has become an excellent source of great – and well-priced – Riesling. Many of the best hail from the steep slopes of Seneca and Cayuga lakes. For fans of the bone-dry, super minerally style, it’s hard to best Ravines.” Serve it with a selection of cheeses and slices of fresh-picked apples. Cheers!
