Now that it’s going to be in the balmy mid 20s for the weekend, I think a fun and fruity wine is just the ticket. I am a fan of Stella Rosa wines, made in Italy with real fruit. This flavor recently came to my attention and I thought, well, why not? Watermelon! Do they grow watermelons in Italy? I’m not going to think too much about that. It’s made from a blend of white grapes, including moscato, which has that delicious sweetness to it. The Stella wines aren’t cloying or overly sweet – the fruit is the star. In this case, it’s watermelon all the way. And it’s a beautiful shade of pink, which is very pleasing in the glass. Pair with anything from spicy foods to salty salads to a late-night snack of popcorn or chips. It’s only 5% ABV, too, so fill up your glass! Cheers!
