The Little Guild, the only limited admission shelter in northwest Connecticut, was founded in 1960 by Muriel Alvord Ward and Eleanora Kleinschmidt. The current 3,000-square-foot facility accommodates 16 dogs and 25 cats comfortably at any time.
This commitment to the development of the animals is what sets the Little Guild apart from other shelters and rescues. We don’t just pass animals through our doors. We help them grow and be good citizens. Both for themselves and for the loving families we match them with.

Stuart
Young Male (altered), Bully Mix – 1 year
Stuart is a small pup with a BIG personality! He is a very unique boy that faces specific challenges navigating the world. He is looking for a special person to help him on his journey. He has limited mobility and hearing but he does not let that get him down! His feet are sadly the result of poor breeding which causes him to walk a little funny. Because movement is difficult for him, he loves to expend energy through chewing and playing with toys. He is able to walk or even run on flatter, smoother surfaces, but requires plenty of resting breaks. He can actually run very fast when he wants to! He lived in a foster home with 4 other dogs and did great with them. He will always keep you laughing with his hilarious personality and happy spirit! If you think you are up for the task of assisting this extraordinary little guy through the world, call today!
