Here comes July!! To help celebrate our nation’s birthday on the 4th, I have to go with this Cabernet Sauvignon from California: The Federalist. The winery claims the wines are “made like America: bold.” This Cab is indeed bold, with big black cherry and cassis notes and firm yet supple tannins. I love the label, too. Benjamin Franklin, a wine lover himself, who has several quotes about wine attributed to him. I especially like this one: “Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance.” Wouldn’t it be fun to share wine with Ben Franklin? Think about that. Happy Birthday, America.
