We wine lovers can be glad that all things pumpkin spiced haven’t found their way into our beverage of choice – yet! Apple, on the other hand, is a common flavor note in wine that is thoroughly delightful. A grape that grows well in the Hudson Valley and that has lovely notes of golden apple is Vidal Blanc. Whitecliff Winery has been making estate Vidal Blanc for years, and it’s a fabulous wine, maybe especially in the fall when it’s big mouthfeel and crisp acidity are just right for warm days and cool nights. Whitecliff’s Vidal Blanc is a fan favorite, and it won Best White in Show at the Hudson Valley Wine Competition in 2022. It’s also great with apple pie!!!
