Founded in 1871, Dutchess County SPCA is one of the oldest SPCAs in the country.  It is a no-kill shelter, and the only animal welfare organization in Dutchess County chartered to enforce humane law.  Dutchess County SPCA is not a governmental agency, nor is it affiliated with the ASPCA.  It is an independent charity, funded almost entirely by private donations.

Blue Jay

Blue Jay is an energetic sofa seal who loves stuffed toys and a good game of tug. This cutie-pie came into the shelter with her brother Charlie after their owner passed away. She is a happy 4-year-old girl, who needs to work on her manners a bit and is looking for a human who is willing to help her out with some training time. At 52lbs she is medium-sized and full of love she is looking to give to her human BFF.
