The Otis Feed

Chores

By Published On: February 24th, 2021

As you all have come to know, my Mom is constantly cleaning and picking up after us here at home; as one might assume, she has become quite skilled in this arena.

The house always looks spotless.

I’ve seen commercials on TV featuring this Mr. Clean character. I think he and Mom are related? Any who, a couple times in passing Mom has asked me (in her cat mom voice of course), “Otis Joe, how come you don’t help do chores around the house? You’re home all day, evfurry day!”

What could I possibly do to help?

After some serious consideration, I realized I am faced with one huge disadvantage— I’m a cat.

I’m not supposed to be on the table or kitchen counter, so doing dishes is out of the question. I don’t have thumbs to help clean the litter box, but I guess I could try to avoid digging fur gold whilst doing my business. I just always thought Mom liked a little treasure hunt when cleaning my box.

I’m terrible at folding clothes (maybe I get this furrom my Dad?) I am however considerably effective when it comes to knocking already folded stacks of laundry ovfurr in hopes of finding a blankie.

What could I possibly do to help Mom?

I got it!

Evfurry weekend Mom goes grocery shopping and usually brings home turkey and sometimes paw-ty mix fur me. The least I can do to is help her find what bag they are in so she knows to put them away before Ellie gets her paws on them.

There are just some things I don’t want to share.

Turns out I’m not very good at this either. I get all tangled up in the handles.

Thanks fur all that you do Mrs. Clean – I mean, Mom.
