In the first of what is slated to become an annual event in the picturesque town of Amenia, NY, the Hudson Valley Rodeo, supporting the Amenia-Wassaic Community Organization and sponsored in part by the Silo Ridge Community Foundation, will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Keane Stud. The 275 acre state-of-the-art thoroughbred breeding farm will provide the perfect backdrop for the large-scale afternoon romp and was designed and built in the mid 1980s by Mr. James Edwards.

The rodeo, which has been gaining some serious steam on social media over the past month, will be a family friendly affair featuring mutton bustin’, barrel racing and bull riding in addition to the rodeo itself which kicks off at 4pm. Attendees will also have an opportunity to enjoy a variety of local food trucks as well as a few libations for the adults. While the rodeo might be the main attraction while the sun is shining, after the sun sets, country music fans of all kinds will be in for an exceptional treat.

After the conclusion of the rodeo at 6pm, attendees will be admitted to the concert field where Saugerties musician Ian Flanigan, one of the top finalists of The Voice, will open the concert portion of the evening at 7pm. Award-winning country musician, Chris Janson, whose hits include Buy Me a Boat, Fix a Drink and Good Vibes, will headline the evening’s performance. The entire event is being produced by Leland McMillan and Woodstock-based Chet-5 Productions, Inc. Tickets are being sold both as a package (Rodeo and concert) or individually for just the rodeo or the concert.

Despite the one-of-a-kind entertainment attractions, the heart of the 1st annual Hudson Valley Rodeo lies within its charitable ambitions. The event will support the Amenia-Wassaic Community Organization (AWCO) which provides resources to support the work of qualified nonprofit community organizations serving the Amenia-Wassaic area. Through collaborative leadership and cooperation with partners, AWCO maintains its goal is to help enrich the lives of local residents by bringing community services, health, arts, education, conservation, and cultural programs to the area. Through partnerships with local organizations, the AWCO works to establish and support parks, trails, town improvements, public spaces, and community programs for all.

The Silo Ridge Community Foundation (SRCF) who are helping to sponsor the Hudson Valley Rodeo, is dedicated to helping local non-profit organizations aid those in need throughout the Amenia-Wassaic area. The SRCF provides funding through its grant program to organizations addressing issues such as hunger, veteran reintegration, senior needs, education, conservation and community enhancement. The Foundation is supported by Silo Ridge Field Club members, guests and friends in the local community. It is through their financial donations the SRCF is able to work collectively with area non-profit partners to build a better community for everyone.
