Father’s Day is Sunday, and that calls for something special.

If you’ll be gathered around the grill and are looking for a wine that will pair perfectly with beef and that will have Dad saying, “Hey, wow, who brought this wine?” then here’s my recommendation:

Robert Mondavi’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon. There’s deliciousness in every sip of this complex and big-bodied wine. It pops with notes of vanilla and chocolate, toasted caramel (from the bourbon barrel), deep dark cherry, and even some prune. Inky and elegant, it’s one of those wines that’s just pure pleasure in the glass.

It’s widely distributed so it’s easy to find, and it’s very affordable.
