However you choose to celebrate or participate in Earth Day (April 22), the wine you’ll want to have in your glass is a selection from Frey Vineyards. From the time they started growing grapes to make wine in Redwood, California (Mendocino County) back in 1980, they chose to do it organically. Frey was the first winery in the United States to earn the full certification of USDA Organic. They are also Demeter Certified for Biodynamic production. While many organic wine labels say “made with organic grapes” on the label, few have the full USDA Organic symbol on them. Frey is one of them. They grow many varietals, too, so you can find classics like Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, and also Sangiovese, Malbec, Petite Sirah and Pinot Grigio.
