Yes, the 2021 vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau has arrived!!

The release of the young wine from Burgundy on the third Thursday of November has been an occasion for anticipation and celebration in France and now around the world since the 1950s. The Nouveau is the first release of wine made from this year’s harvest of Gamay grapes in the namesake region of Burgundy, and it is classically a light-bodied, bright, fruity yet dry red that is meant to be drunk within a few months of its release.

Here in the US, it’s become a favorite for Thanksgiving, as it pairs well with all kinds of food. Whether you’ve never tried it, or whether you’re part of the annual tradition of getting your bottle(s), or whether you’ve “been there, done that” and have lost interest, I urge you to give this wine a try.

Wine Spectator says the 2021 from Georges Duboeuf is “A fresh red, with hints of hot stone and smoke underscoring the juicy blackberry and black plum fruit flavors. Zesty finish.” 85 points. points.”

Mais oui!!!
