Welcome, March! Will it come in like a lion and go out like a lamb? We’ll soon find out. A wine to pair with that theme is the Juggernaut Hillside Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery, in Clarksburg, CA, claims to be harnessing the power of nature with fruit grown in challenging conditions, yielding exceptional flavor. The Cab has one of the best-looking labels out there (an Art Deco style illustration of a lion in full roar), and the wine is true to how it’s described on the website, and I can’t do better than this: “Purity, Intensity, and Seamless Structure. French oak beautifully transforms intense hillside fruit into a wine with uncommon richness and smooth, luxurious texture…..a wine that is fierce, brave, and delicious.” I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind being described as fierce, brave, and delicious! Check out the website, too – preferably with a glass of the Cab in hand – it’s as rich and lovely as the wine itself (www.juggernautwines.com).
