Founded in 1871, Dutchess County SPCA is one of the oldest SPCAs in the country.  It is a no-kill shelter, and the only animal welfare organization in Dutchess County chartered to enforce humane law.  Dutchess County SPCA is not a governmental agency, nor is it affiliated with the ASPCA.  It is an independent charity, funded almost entirely by private donations. https://www.dcspca.org

Lanaya

Playful Lanaya is a cat who is full of surprises! One moment she might be rubbing against your legs, and the next she’s chasing a dust particle through the air. At eleven and a half years old, Lanaya still has a lot of pep in her step. Energetic Lanaya’s big personality is packaged in a petite body. Because she has symptoms of kidney disease, Lanaya needs to stay on a special diet. She’ll do best in a home where any children are over the age of twelve.

If you are interested in adopting Lanaya, or any of our other available pets, please visit the adopt page at www.DCSPCA.org. You can also come to the shelter Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.

Founded in 1871, Dutchess County SPCA has been helping the animals of our region for more than 150 years.
