Mickey

Mickey is a 3-year-old mixed breed.  He does not realize he weighs 70 pounds and will try to sit in your lap or pull you along while walking.  He is very affectionate and people-oriented.  Mickey has worked hard on his manners while he’s been at the shelter and now knows his basic commands.  Due to a traumatic event in his past, Mickey is fearful of other animals and can’t tolerate them in his presence, so he has asked to be placed in a home where he is the only pet. Due to his size and how he loves to lean into people, we recommend a home with no small children. Mickey loves toys and his favorite game is fetch.

If you are interested in adopting Mickey, or any of our other available pets, please visit the adopt page at www.dcspca.org. To meet one of our pets, you must have an approved adoption application on file. Those with approved applications can visit the shelter Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.

Founded in 1871, Dutchess County SPCA is celebrating 150 years of helping the animals of our region.
