Founded in 1871, Dutchess County SPCA is one of the oldest SPCAs in the country.  It is a no-kill shelter, and the only animal welfare organization in Dutchess County chartered to enforce humane law.  Dutchess County SPCA is not a governmental agency, nor is it affiliated with the ASPCA.  It is an independent charity, funded almost entirely by private donations. https://www.dcspca.org

Petunia

Did you know that visually impaired cats can sense vibrations in the air with their whiskers? She may not see you, but pretty 16 ½-year-old Petunia can tell when you’re reaching out to pet her—welcoming your affection with her sweet squeaky mews.

In her forever home, senior kitty Petunia will act just like a sighted cat (though she’ll need a little allowance to get used to her new surroundings). In return for your kindness, she will give you unconditional love.
