Looks like we’ll be snuggling up against the cold again this weekend. A fine time for wine! Go big with a juicy Zinfandel. Considered a quintessential California grape, it thrives in the Lodi area where it’s grown on vines dating back in many cases to the Prohibition. My pick to pack sunshine and jammy fruit in a bottle is the Predator Old Vine Zinfandel. It’s a mouthful of bright raspberry, blackberry, black pepper and smoky oak with smooth tannins. It’s perfect with a hearty stew. Oh, and a roaring fire. And it has a lovely ladybug on the label. Irresistible. Cheers!
