It’s International Women’s Day and Month, so it’s only fitting that the focus be on women-made wines. Fortunately, that’s not hard to do these days. I found an excellent article from fingerlakeswinecountry.com about many of the women in the Finger Lakes who are making wonderful wines (The Women of Finger Lakes Wine Country). Here in the Hudson Valley there are a slew of women at the forefront of wines, too. Sparkling wine always says celebration, so to honor these hard-working women, I’m opening a bottle of Tousey Winery’s Sparkling Queen, a bouncy and beautiful off-dry bubbly with loads of fresh melon and a balanced acidity. Thank you Kimberly (and Ben) Peacock. Visit Tousey Winery in Germantown (www.touseywinery.com). Cheers!
