Pumpkin

“My name is Pumpkin and it fits me perfectly! I am as sweet as pumpkin pie, and I am kind of round like a pumpkin! I have a spinal deformity that most would see as a nuisance, but I think it makes me beautiful and unique! Right now I am the Lead Feline Sales Associate at the Dutchess County SPCA Thrift, where I greet customers from my special throne and accept all public displays of affection.”

“I am considered special needs due to being diagnosed with chronic renal disease and my spinal deformity. Right now I don’t need any special medication for my kidneys, but may require it in the future as well as a prescription diet. I don’t move around a lot, so if you are a couch potato, I will be your couch Pumpkin!”

If you are interested in adopting Pumpkin, or any of our other available pets, please visit the adopt page at www.dcspca.org. We are now open for walk-in hours on Wednesday through Sunday, 12pm – 4pm. Check the website to make sure the pet you want to meet is in the shelter and not in foster. To meet a pet in foster care, you must complete the adoption application and make an appointment.

Founded in 1871, Dutchess County SPCA is celebrating 150 years of helping the animals of our region.
