Some wines are worth exploring if they call to you for some reason. Like the Domaine Chanson 2018 Vire-Clesse from France.
When I spotted this wine at Exit 9 Wine & Liquor Warehouse, I was immediately intrigued. I discovered Vire-Clesse is a part of the Macon region of Burgundy, home to world-class Chardonnay. I also discovered this wine has scored 90 points from Wine Enthusiast magazine.
I finally tried it, and it is exceptional. It’s light and elegant with a sunny citrus note on the nose and an ethereal wisp of fruit on the palate. LIght-bodied yet finely structured, it delights and surprises with every sip.
For me, it was like making a new friend; this wine makes you want more of it. Slip away to France in this vin extraordinaire.
