Quassaick Creek Fest Brings Together Nature and Community for an End-of-Season Celebration

NEWBURGH — Scenic Hudson and community partners are hosting a day of connection, creativity, and community at the End-of-Season Creek Fest Celebration in the heart of Crystal Lake.

The City of Newburgh, Ecological Citizen’s Project, Greater Newburgh Parks Conservancy, Newburgh Environmental Justice, Newburgh Waterways Center, Outdoor Promise, Quassaick Creek Greenway, Quassaick Creek Watershed Alliance, The Sanctuary Healing Gardens on Crystal Lake, and Scenic Hudson.

WHAT:
This free event is open to all ages and brings together music, art, food, and nature for a day of joy and exploration.

• Explore the Crystal Lake area by kayak or a community hike
• Discover the plants and critters that call the Quassaick Creek home by joining in AquaBlitz
• Get creative with nature-based arts and crafts
• Plus live music performances and dancing!

Spanish interpretation and bilingual assistance will be provided.

About the Quassaick Creek:
Scenic Hudson and community partners are exploring the potential for a public trail along Quassaick Creek. Extending from the Hudson River to Crystal Lake, the potential “Greenway” could create additional opportunities for public enjoyment, education, and recreation; protect the Creek’s unique ecosystem; and improve neighborhood access to nature in the city.
