Ah, mid-September mild days. They are so wonderful and so fleeting.

What to pair with this special time of year?

Splashes of summer – Sauvignon Blanc and Sangria.

For the former, go with something simple and satisfying and maybe even a bit silly. Monkey Bay from the Marlboro region in New Zealand is perfect. It’s as crisp and clean as a September blue sky.

As for the sangria, take a bottle of Brotherhood’s I Love NY Red Blend, put it in a pitcher, add bite-sized pieces of fresh-picked apples, some orange slices, about a cup of orange juice, and a healthy splash of Grand Marnier. Chill and serve over ice. Add a splash of seltzer for some bubbly fun.

Find a seat in the sun and soak it up.
