Glynis Carpenter stumbled upon the idea to start Ugly Donut Co by accident. While she doesn’t necessarily have a sweet tooth, per se, if she’s going to pick up a sweet treat, it’s going to be a donut.

The riverside town of Rhinecliff is home to Kips Tavern – an American eatery with sweeping water views and all the charm that one would expect from a century old building located across from the Rhinecliff train station.

Madison Kiggins grew up in the hospitality business. Her parents, Jason and Madeline, own two restaurants: Madison’s Pizza Cafe & Catering in Pleasant Valley – which is actually named after Madison – and Jason Patrick’s on 44 in Poughkeepsie.
