Our director of advertising Ashley Kristjansson is a self proclaimed crazy cat lady … with only one cat. Luckily for Ashley, and now the entire world, that one feline is a world class nap taker, the gold standard of grumpiness, and God’s gift to Instagram. Everyday, tens of hundreds of people are inspired by the one and only Otis Joe to cuddle, mooch, and snack on turkey deli meat to their heart’s content. Otis is a soon to be ten year old house kitty, his lineage is unknown-like most comic book heroes-but mom Ashley believes he is part Turkish Van, perhaps explaining his love for the aforementioned sandwich meat. “I love him as though he were my furrrst born, I am his familiar if you will, unfortunately, my husband is his favorite person-reluctantly I might add-but I will continue to fight for his undying love and attention.” His life has been full of ups and downs, from his early experiences with the outside world to the comfort of his cat stroller, as well as his long battle with “cat acne” Otis has etched his name into the annuals of cat history. Now, for the first time ever, the legendarily lazy feline will allow our cameras into his everyday life. Main Street Magazine and its readers have been granted one of a kind access to the King of Catnaps and all of his furbaby adventures, won’t you join us? What do you say Otis?

As you may recall, Ellie has really been getting into Disney purrimpresses (that’s how Ellie purrnounces princesses) lately. Elsa and Anna furrom Frozen seem to be her favfurrite. Well, recently, Mom purrchased Ellie some big-girl hooded purrimpress bath towels fur bath time. When Ellie saw them come out of the wash, she thought they were blankies.

Snowed In Fur Days
Thanks to the latest Nor’easter, Mom and Ellie were home with me for two whole days this week! I definitely fell behind on my usual catnapping quota, but on the other paw, it was kind of nice having some extra company at home – which also meant extra turkey and treats!

A Catnapping Furrst
Yesterday afternoon Mom and Ellie arrived home earlier than usual due to what Ellie described as, “snow everywhere”. My sister isn’t much of a snow bunny (yet), so playing outside in the freshly fallen snow wasn’t an option fur her. Instead, Mom suggested a catnap — an idea I can easily get behind. Once Ellie fell into a deep slumber, I decided to do something I have nevfurr done in her existence.

Feline Fine
Ovfurr the years I’ve caught many glimpses of myself in the mirror. Not to toot my own horn, but I’ve always thought I was a purretty good looking fellow. Still, if I’ve evfurr had any doubts when it comes to my own self-image, my Mother has always reassured me that I am without a doubt “too handsome” fur her and I am her one and only “handsome pants”.
