About Thorunn Kristjansdottir

Thorunn Kristjansdottir is the principal, editor, publisher and designer of Main Street Magazine. She founded the magazine in January of 2013, because she found a niche: there wasn’t any magazine specifically for this area. Yes, there were numerous magazines that covered the area, but they also covered everything from Poughkeepsie to Vermont. Thorunn thought that there was a need for a magazine for just this area, featuring stories about the people, businesses, and curiosities that are to be found in this corner of the world. Having done this before (she was the co-creator, editor and publisher of another similar magazine), she went to work to create Main Street Magazine for Millerton and it’s surrounding area in late 2012. A magazine that is high-end in every aspect, from the content, writing and articles to the photographs and advertisements, from the layout to the printing. She strives for perfection at each step of the way.

Changing my Perspective on Diet

It’s been awhile since I initially shared with all of you that I signed up for Noom and was giving that a whirl. Well, I’ve since finished my three-month sign-up, and it was quite interesting. I’ve been Noomin!

That entails them telling family and friends about your product/service […]

Health in Quarantine

I’ve stopped counting my “health weeks,” whereas life in quarantine has turned into counting quarantine days. But so far life in quarantine has been just fine. I’d say my family and I are one of the lucky ones and so we are just fine. My whole approach to this, as it is with other things […]

Quarantine Mommy

I left the house for the second time since we self-quarantined – don’t worry, I didn’t see anyone or touch anything. (And to clarify, when I say that “I left the house,” I mean that I left our property – like went in the car and physically left the property and went out in the […]
