WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO MEET OTIS JOE, A CAT LIKE NO OTHER

OTIS JOE & ASHLEY JO

Our director of advertising Ashley Kristjansson is a self proclaimed crazy cat lady … with only one cat. Luckily for Ashley, and now the entire world, that one feline is a world class nap taker, the gold standard of grumpiness, and God’s gift to Instagram. Everyday, tens of hundreds of people are inspired by the one and only Otis Joe to cuddle, mooch, and snack on turkey deli meat to their heart’s content. Otis is a soon to be ten year old house kitty, his lineage is unknown-like most comic book heroes-but mom Ashley believes he is part Turkish Van, perhaps explaining his love for the aforementioned sandwich meat. “I love him as though he were my furrrst born, I am his familiar if you will, unfortunately, my husband is his favorite person-reluctantly I might add-but I will continue to fight for his undying love and attention.” His life has been full of ups and downs, from his early experiences with the outside world to the comfort of his cat stroller, as well as his long battle with “cat acne” Otis has etched his name into the annuals of cat history. Now, for the first time ever, the legendarily lazy feline will allow our cameras into his everyday life. Main Street Magazine and its readers have been granted one of a kind access to the King of Catnaps and all of his furbaby adventures, won’t you join us? What do you say Otis?

THE OTIS FEED: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Spurring Vibes

Hey furriends, how are we all doing? Aside furrom Sunday’s temperatures, which were brutally cold and supurr windy, spurring is in the air! You know how I know? On Caturday – pardon me – on Saturday, Mom went to town on cleaning. The music was crankin’ (any guesses who she was rocking out to?), the windows were wide open, the laundry was going, and I was a huge help to her fur it all.

In true Mom form, she is very purrticular in the […]

An Independent, Dependent

Mom came home furrom filing this year’s taxes and was a little upset – and rightfully so! Quite frankly, I’m upset fur her. Want to know why? Mom and Dad can’t claim me on their taxes. What the fluff is that all about?

Fur 13 years Mom as always refurred to me as her furrst born – her baby! I have a middle name fur crying out loud. I don’t know of any other pets that have one. Okay it’s quite obvious Mom didn’t […]

Daylight Savings Dinner

You’re purrobably wondering why I’m wearing my sister’s scarf. The story goes like this: I’m far furrom a night owl like Mom. I’m one of those early birds. As soon as the sun starts to shine is when I wake up and start meowing fur the whole house to hear. In the words of my Great Grand-paw, “If I’m up, evfurryone’s up!” We’re a week-plus into daylight savings at this point and I’m all fur it staying this way. The family leaves an hour […]

Snow Day

Evfurryone else is talking about the weather and how much snow we got, so I might as well chime in. Evfurryone seems to be up in arms about all the snow old man winter brought us. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s still winter furriends. I’d say we have a good 16 inches here at the homestead. I’m furrevfurr grateful to be an indoor kitty, especially during times like these. I would get lost out there. One, because I’d […]
