If you’ve ever wondered what Albany, NY, might look like if it were a city in Texas, wonder no more. On the evening of Friday, June 20, thanks to Grammy award-winner Chris Stapleton coming to town to perform to a sold-out crowd, downtown Albany felt like you had somehow been transported to Texas with all of the cowboy boots, cut-off jean shorts, and cowboy hats on every pedestrian walking the streets surrounding the MVP arena. I had no idea we New Yorkers were so country!
“I wanted to create a space where people could learn new skills, find community, and explore their creativity in a positive environment surrounded by other creative people,” says Jamie Goldenberg, owner of Hart, a textile shop in Great Barrington, MA.

Erick Johnson’s work narrates rich surface textures, layered chromatic decisions, and an intuitive approach to composition. He creates paintings that are simultaneously architectural and emotional, intimate and expansive. Johnson’s works are a study in contrasts: finely flat surfaces carry the memory of earlier paint layers pushed and pulled, while negative space winds a whispered line through overlapping color fields.
I first met Bill Hardy when he was working at Millbrook School; I approached him about life drawing classes, which were hard to find 18 years ago in this area. He generously helped us, a group of artists, and we had many delightful evening sessions quietly working alongside him.

This article is for the people who think they’re alone in persistent adult acne. I was 21 years old and suddenly facing breakouts! I thought this stage of the game was over once I graduated high school. At first, I avoided social settings and swore never to go to the beach again. So, how did I solve this problem? Choosing routes like birth control and Accutane had too many adverse effects, so I dove into exploring natural remedies that changed everything.

The story of Little Apple Cidery in Hillsdale, NY, begins more than 40 years ago in an old orchard overgrown with little apples off of Route 22. Founders Ron Bixby and Alanne Baerson purchased the farm in 1980 and started the long process of restoring the abandoned orchard. Early on, Ron and Alanne made the decision to become organic, and following years of clearing, pruning, and replanting, the fruit grew back bigger and more bountiful.
